What are semiconductors?


Semiconductors are materials whose conductivity is between that of conductors and insulators.


Examples of semiconductor materials : Silicon and Germanium.


These materials are used to make semiconductor devices like Diodes, Transistors and Integrated Circuits which are the building blocks of Electronics. These devices have led to the miniaturization of our gadgets in daily life e.g. computers, i-pods etc.


Reflect on this :

Imagine a life without electronic appliances. What are the things you would miss?

    first thing i will miss will be the TV
    second is the ac because our country have a high degree temperature .
    its right our life will be possible but it will be much harder .

    A life without electronics appliances would very hard for the all of us. It would be very hard to imagine life without the most needed things around us. Life would be harder & much more difficult. Most of the things around us are electronic appliances.

    there will be no lamps and air conditions and we have to start it with patrol and pull to start and it will be hard to live

    Imagining the life without electronics is going to be hard for students / business men / and children because we use laptops/computers in our daily life for fun/work or even the small programmed chips for all our daily works it will be very difficult world without it

    Q1. yes is there, when connecting a diode in the direction of flow, the current will passe, exactly it's the same in hydraulic valve when connecting a pipe in the direction of flow, the oil or liquid will flow.

    Q2. I will miss many things, like the ac will not exist and the ac in our country is very important.
